Maybe it is the warm sunshiney day but I am in the mood to share but just like Z in another blog I am not all that organised.  Several things going on right now since it is the end of the school year there seems to be an event at the school every other day which is fun becasue they include the younger kids too and it always makes me smile to see little kids up on stage. There was 2nd grade poetry the other day and each kid had three poems, the first used the letters of their name to describe themselves, the second was a five line poem about anything in which my daughter said I was cool, I think I will laminate that and point it out to her when she says she hates me and the 3rd was a Dark or macabre poem but if you didnt want to write a dark poem you could write a happier one. Well my kid was almost the lat kid out of 27 and except for two kids everyone recited a happy poem and Frances-Rose did too it was about reading and being happy while reading but when I got the written copies of them the happy poem wasn't there it was a drk poem about death, killing and grizzley bears and when I aske why she recited the reading poem she said she didn't want to freak anybody out so she made up the other one right on the spot. I was floored that she could improv so well.

Work is busy as usual as we get ready for the busy summer wedding season and Pride the last weekend in June. If you are up in the Coon Rapids area check out the store we have painted and put up a new stone facade and are also improving the landscaping.

My Mom goes in for knee replacement surgery in a few weeks I am nervous for her but she is in so much pain now I can't wait for her to be more mobile, It shouldn't have gone this long but she spent all of her energy taking care of my Dad before he passed and now its like her body is saying time to take care of me! she has been working out for a year and I am so proud of her she even stopped smoking after almost 40 years woohoo!!!

I am almost done with my house remodel and am looking foward to sitting on the porch and reading, just need the fans and furniture and you won't be able to pry my butt off of the sofa. I got on my bike for the first time in years and went out around lake Harriet I could barely breathe when I was done but I did it! I hope to do more if I can get my daughter on her bike, she is so nervous but I was too as a kid.

I guess I just wanted to say hi to everyone and hope you're getting stuff done too! Heres hoping everyone has a wonderful Summer.

    Enjoying the shows.

    Thursday, April 2, 2009, 11:04 AM [General]

I have been spending more time listening to the station lately and I have found that I can't have a beverage while listening because I end up spewing coffee all over my desk.  All of the on air talent seem to be in an extra funny groove right now and maybe they are feeding off of each other, wait that sounds kinky but you know what I mean.  I love hearing Brian Lambert fill in for Julia and his time on Kevyns show and Stephanies show on Saturday is really hitting its stride.  Colleen & the Boys consistently make me laugh as do Jason and Alexis. Reuvers and Shelletas show on Saturday I miss more then I listen but I enjoy it when I have a chance to listen. Hey I think they deserve a picture on the show schedule page don't you??? I started listening because I was an advertiser but now I listen because it is a nice way to spend the day while I am at the office, and sometimes I forget I advertise with them and then I hear myself and am startled or my employees will hear my voice and think where is she???  I am looking forward to working with FM107 in the future and definitly looking foward to the all the fun on air, now if advertisers could play in the prize closet life would be almost perfect in FM107 land.  Have a wonderful day everyone.

    Homework Angst.

    Tuesday, March 17, 2009, 02:35 PM [General]

A good homework moment...notice Mom is not helping. I especially like the hat.

My daughter is only in second grade yet the homework battles are beginning, I ask if she has any she says no but when I check there it is or as she is doing it she gets really frustrated when she doesn't get something right away, I try to help but she gets more angry and the tears start.  Then there is the fact that the methods and abulary of teaching math has changed and most of the time I have no idea what she is doing, or if I do it is not the same method. I have talked to the teacher and I know that I am not alone in my homework struggles yet I can't stop all my old school angst wash over me, I wasn't the best student and to this day i have no idea how I managed to graduate. Actually I do, I read alot, showed up and didn't cause problems plus I hung out with the smart kids. I am trying not to dread the next 10 years of school and to not let my homework phobias influence my daughter. I spent years hiding the fact that I never understood what was going on so part of me thinks I may be overreacting now.

    Accents

    Tuesday, March 3, 2009, 12:57 PM [General]

I listen to the station as advertiser and fan of several of the shows and I was just wondering if I should add a accent to my voice overs, there was the Icelandic fish oil commercial and now the accia berry brazilian accent, ladies and gentlemen does this make you want to try this product ? Does having an exotic voice make it more authentic? and are they actually native speakers? I have probably broken some sort of advertisers code here but they just crack me up.

    Being over 40 means........

    Monday, January 12, 2009, 02:42 PM [General]

Being over forty means you don't care if your legs are all furry when you head to a yearly checkup.  Yet the mustache has to go!!!! I don't give a hoot about the grey but as soon as the short hair style is a bit long that has to be taken care of. I still own a zillion pairs of shoes but only wear the comfy ones most of the time, but I can still rock a pair of heels if needed.  I can finally bitch and moan about kid drivers. The crock pot is my friend and I can't stand to have the dishes left in the sink.  Just needed a moment to enjoy 40 as my knees are very creaky today.
