My mom is an elementary school principal in San Diego. Yesterday we were talking on the phone and she mentioned that tomorrow she's celebrating her teachers for Teacher's Day.
That got us thinking on the Jason Matheson show about the teachers who changed our lives. You've heard Jason talk about Mrs. Freese who created a drama program for him! We all have teachers who have helped steer us in the right direction and realize our dreams.
We're giving a big THANK YOU to our favorite, unforgettable ones on the show tomorrow!
Tell us about the teacher you want to honor and why. Reply to this blog post or go to the Jason Matheson showpage and "email the show" (it's the top link on the right).

My father is an amazing teacher in out-state Minnesota who inspires children to learn, study, and embrace the complex subject of science through interactive labs and lessons. He was the first teacher to initiate the Science Fair and Inventors Fair at first Maynard Elementary School, now MACCRAY West Elementary School. He is a terrific role model in education and example. The children love him and remember him long after they complete 6th grade science. Eleven years ago he suffered a serious accident and now has a prosthesis on one of his legs, but he continues to joyfully teach science and maintains the Head Coach position for both Girls' and Boys' Tennis at MACCRAY Schools. Jon Howard is an inspiration to the schools and the community.
