The 81st Annual Academy Awards was last night. There was so much to talk about....the acceptance speeches, the program changes, the musical numbers and, of course, fashion!
Mall of America's fashion goddess Sara Rogers dished with us. We each picked a different top fashionista.
Marisa Tomei was my pick.
Jason loved Diane Lane's black gown -- Josh Brolin was the perfect accessory!
And Sara Roger's picked Natalie Portman.
My other favorites were Frieda Pinto -- was bold and appropriate for the film and her culture and I also like the vintage Versage dress Penelope Cruz wore.
Jason and I played some of the songs that keep us motivated during our workouts. We played some of them a little after noon today if you want to hear the samples OnDemand.
Our Favorites:
Wow - Kylie Minogue
Sexyback - Justin Timberlake
Rhythm of the Night remix - Debarge
Lady Gaga - Just Dance
Wake Up - Hilary Duff
Waiting for a Star to Fall remix - Boy Meets Girl
9 to 5 remix - Dolly Parton
Jump - Madonna
Others (some we played as bump music):
The Best - Tina Turner
Holding Out For A Hero - Frou Frou
I'm Every Woman - Whitney Houston
Absolutely Fabulous (our AbFab theme song) - Pet Shop Boys
What songs keep you moving and grooving during your workout??
My baby bro Jake will be on the show today at 11:15 am. He lives in New York City and works on the set of Ugly Betty as a production assistant. And he's been promoted; he works directly with the actors.
He has some good news for Ugly Betty fans...and he'll share some fun dish about the stars. How does Vanessa Williams like her coffee/tea? There's some great stars coming on the show like hottie Cheyenne Jackson, Christine Baranski from Mamma Mia (and many other movies) and Mo Rocco from Best Week Ever.
I'm sure he'll share some embarrassing stories about growing up with me too!
But I closed my eyes for a little bit and I was fine. It's so realistic; the fish jump off the screen.
Last night we checked out Under the Sea 3D at the IMAX theater at the MN Zoo. It took us on an underwater adventure to beautiful places: South Australia, the Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Triangle islands of New Guinea and Indonesia.
There was cute and scary, babies and mating - all family friendly. The best part of the movie, by far, was being part of the audience and gasping or shrieking together. The kids around us were mesmerized by the creatures; a couple of them kept reaching out to touch the sea horses or sea lions and banging us on the head.
It's narrated by Jim Carrey and there were a few laugh out loud moments. The movie's about 45 minutes. Here's more about the movie. There's some great how they "done did it" footage posted on the website.
