Locally grown song of the day! Mike Gunther

    Thursday, July 12, 2007, 11:50 PM [General]

Hey Everybody! I am so excited to share with you the insanely great twangy music of Mike Gunther. I first heard him at an art museum in St. Paul, and he blistered the paint right off the canvases!

He's a Montana native who grew up in Minnesota listening to scratchy AM radio. He bought a second hand Harmony guitar at a garage sale, and taught himself to play. If I were to describe his music, I guess I'd have to call it bluegrass gospel punk.

Ladies and gents, open your ears for
     Mike Gunther!

You Think the Weekend is Gonna Be Great? Just Wait

    Thursday, July 12, 2007, 11:13 PM [General]

    Hey, everybody! Colleen here.

It's late Thursday night. I'm already thinking ahead to the weekend and beyond. It's not often I wish the weekend would go fast so I can get to Monday. But we have a lot of exciting multimedia projects boiling here at the Desilu Ranch.

When the brand new website launches on Monday, I'll be adding a Locally Grown Song of the Day video every weekday afternoon so you can rock out before you leave for home. In the mornings, you'll be able to have a "virtual" cup o' joe with me during The Wakeup Call at 7 a.m.

Mmmmmm, robust webcammy goodness! You won't even know it's Sanka! More surprises soon. Stay tuned.

    Luv, C

Locally grown song of the day! Emmaline Muchmore

    Thursday, July 12, 2007, 11:10 AM [General]

    Hey everybody,

We all love music, and we all know that Minnesota is a hotbed of nationally ranked talent. Introducing my dear friend Emmaline. Em is an 107.1 listener; a stay-at-home-mom, sister, daughter, lover, and ROCK STAR.

Ms. Emmaline is currently on tour in London! She resides in Minnetonka, Mn. and will be doing a live show this August at the Kitty Kat Club in Dinkytown. I'll be there, and I hope you will be too! Until then, enjoy my pick of the local song of the day-Emmaline Muchmore's "The Score."
