We traded in some light moments from our childhoods on Colleen and The Boys Thursday. What are some of the things that happened to you as a kid that you still hold on to today?
Colleen told a story about getting punched on her way to school, and how to this day she's always on the lookout, waiting for the worst when she's out running around.
That somehow led to many emails about bullying, which is not quite what we were hoping to talk about, even though that's kind of where we started.
I was looking for something on the lighter side, like this one from Miki:
When I was six, my cousins hid under my bed before I was going to sleep and grabbed my ankles. To this day I have to jump in to bed every night!
See? That's kind of funny. And cute.
Your Main Man of the Glow
Told about how he had enormous buck teeth--the kind, Colleen kindly pointed out, that could double as an awning.
Anyway, before 26 months of braces finally corrected the old Goldy Gopher problem, my fellow seventh-graders naturally came up with a nickname for me: "Chippy."
As in chipmunk. I tried to play it cool, but it bothered me.
So much that to this day, even though I don't have buck teeth anymore, I'll clench my lower teeth around my uppers, in an underbite: As if to pull the buck teeth back in.
But, really, I'm okay. No biggie. Seriously.
What about you? Share your stories Down Below on The Glow.
And the Super Bucky Prize Closet Bonus Code Word of the day is ... "scar."
As in "...face."
Friday, people! -gr

When were kids, my cousin used to tell her younger sister and me that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny were actually evil and would sometimes gobble up little kids. Imagine our terror! Most kids can't sleep on Christmas Eve out of anticipation - we were afraid Santa Claus was about to storm the room - fangs, claws and all! I suppose the upshot is that we were pretty relieved when we found out they didn't really exist.
