Michael Phelps is publicly apologizing for photos that show him using a marijuana pipe which were published in British newspaper on Sunday. Phelps states, "I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment. I'm 23 years old, and despite the successes I've had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again."
Does Michael Phelps strike you as the type of person that, though he put in a lot of hard work to achieve his success, it came a little too quickly and before he was ready to handle it? I was as excited as the next person when he won his gold medals, but after the Olympics I must admit, I wasn't so enamoured with him.
