Try not to worry...
Says Lindsay Lohan about the latest hulaballoo about her weight. Lohan is blaming her slight frame on stress. She urges her fans not to panic.
She says to US Weekly, "I eat as much as I always have," and puts her weightloss down to "working a lot, stress... and lack of sleep when I travel. I think it's all that stuff that adds up."
Regarding the public's opinion, "They've already said everything about me that they can say. And I've never really cared then. I'm my own person, and people can say whatever they want. I'm still going to be the person that I am. Everyone goes through something, and everyone can relate to something. I think that I don't ever want to pretend to be something that I'm not. I'm not perfect; nobody is perfect. If you try to be perfect, you'll probably go crazy. But you should always accept yourself for who you are. And that's what I've done, and I'm happy."
There probably are very few people who consider the complexities of this situation like I do. Most people probably read this news and then go on with their lives, I obessess about this. First of all, not only is it okay for her fans to panic, but it's essential for her fans to panic. Actually, it's essential for her fan's parents to panic. She sets an example to young girls about what is "cool" and right now, her image tells young women that thin is in. Not just thin, superslim, skinny, twiggy, sickley.
Secondly, does anybody else wonder what she means by "working"? Is she even in a movie right now? I would imagine that she would have been more stressed in the days when she was actually playing roles in films.
Third, I'm thinking that any day now some genius with a little marketing prowess is going to release a book called "The Stress Diet." And earn some big bucks.
The one thing I Lindsay Lohan respect for here is that she doesn't care what people say about her. This is one lesson we could all stand to learn from Lindsay.
This makes me giggle...
