The Idol competition has made it down to the final two contestants who will battle it out for the title.  Spoiler alert, if you don't know yet, and want to stay in the dark until you catch up on your TIVO, then you might want to stop reading... right.... about... now. 

The final two include (pardon the infusion of my personal opinion) the screaming Adam Lambert and the John Mayer look/sound-alike Kris Allen.  Danny Gokey was sent packing on Wednesday night's results show which featured the singer's hometown returns complete with parade.  It's pretty amazing to watch the parade footage.  It shows how much the Idol contestants lives have changed in the blink of an eye.  I'm sure it's pretty shocking for them too, having lived in Idol-land with no real link to the outside world for so long.  This is probably their first journey into what "normal" life will be like for a little while. 

Anyway, I digress.  The final two are Adam Lambert and Kris Allen.  I would imagine it doesn't even really matter at this point because Simon already told Oprah that he thinks Adam Lambert is going to win.  So, let's just think of next week's finale as a bonus episode. 

I have to admit, while Danny Gokey wasn't the most interesting singer in the competition, I loved him the best.  He had that "like-ability" factor and such an endearing story.  I was really pulling for him.  I'm not worried about Danny Gokey, though.  He'll be a success to be sure. 

And just so you know, if Adam Lambert wins, I am fully prepared to move to Canada.  (I'm sure some of you are on your knees praying right now).
