Danica McKellar, the actress who played Winnie Cooper on the hit show The Wonder Years, was married recently in La Jolla, California. She tells People Magazine, "I didn't want a huge event. I wanted to be able to talk to everyone and I wanted it to be intimate."
Danica McKellar got her wish when she married composer Michael Verta who she has been dating for 7 1/2 years. They were married in an ocean side church in front of 150 guests, with Danica's sister, CrystalMcKellar (who played Becky Slater on the show) as her maid of honor.
Danica McKellar is a great role model! The 32 year old went to Stanford after completing her Wonder Years run and studied Math. She also wrote a book called Kiss My Math aimed at young women, encouraging them to study math by making it less intimidating.
Zac Efron is no Kevin Bacon...
and he knows it. He has dropped out of the Footloose remake and the studio is giving no reason.
I hope this means they will not be going forward with the remake. Am I the only one getting really tired of poorly made remakes of classics? Are there seriously no new ideas???
Was John Mayer's relationship with Twitter the cause...
of his split with Jennifer Aniston? Sources are saying that John Mayer's excessive Tweeting was making Jen jealous. They say that Mayer would tell Aniston he was working, but he was spending more time "Tweeting" than calling her. I bet there are millions of guys in this world who would give up their relationships with twitter for a chance with Jennifer Aniston!
I've been thinking about the melee that ensued in New York City during auditions for Tyra Banks' hit show, 'America's Next Top Model'. A few people were seriously injured during a stampede that occured in line. I don't mean to make light of the situation, because those types of events are very scary. However, has anyone ever noticed that you never actually become a "Top Model" from being on 'America's Next Top Model'? I guess what I'm saying is, was it really worth it?
Tyra Banks says about the next season of the show, "It is so important to me to redefine beauty, and make sure that everyone gets a fair chance to pursue their dream. I am beyond excited for Cycle 13; for the first time ever, young women 5'7" and under have a shot at becoming America's Next Top Model! I encourage each girl to come out ready to rock the runway and show off their fiercest pose. I'm rooting for all of you!"
Thank you Taylor...
Taylor Swift is wise to the fact that nobody cares about her sex life. She tells Allure magazine that she's happy to talk about love and dating, but NOT sex. She says, "It's fine to talk about love publicly," but I think when you talk about virginity and sex publicly, people just automatically picture you naked. And as much as I can prevent people picturing me naked, I'm going to."
I'm sure her quote was a little toungue in cheek, she probably learned lessons from the Britney Spears of the world. If you talk about it, then suddenly people care. She's a smart cookie.
MacGyver fans, get ready...
Newline Cinema is producing a feature length version of the 80's hit show. I wonder who will play MacGyver, I wonder if he will have a mullet. I wonder if the mullet will come back in.
Just personal opinion here, for what it's worth, but were the 'American Idol' judges watching the same overperformed version of Black or White that I was last night? Adam Lambert's rendition of the Michael Jackson classic garnered the praise of all four judges. I just didn't get it. I was embarrassed for him. What did you think of last night's 'Idol' performances?
PLUS... watch what you dial...
When 'American Idol' producers consented to a top 13 round this year, they did not take into account the fact that in the past, they only owned 12 phone numbers for the contestants. Now, if you call what would be the sequenced 13th phone number, you get a working sex-line. You may have noticed last evening that when Alexis Grace performed last, her Idol phone number did not contain the number 13. I hope if you voted for her that you dialed carefully, otherwise you probably got a little more than you bargained for!!!
Moving in to Melrose Place...
This is yesterday's news, but following the success of the new generation of '90210', the geniuses at the CW are putting together the cast for the revival of another hit show, 'Melrose Place.' Monday, it was announced that Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has joined the new cast. The younger sister of Jessica Simpson has enjoyed acting success in the past as a cast-member of '7th Heaven.'
I am a closet Ashlee Simpson-Wentz fan. My greatest hope for her in this new endeavor is that her father will not involve himself in her career and make any kind of commentary on her breast size as was the case for Ashlee's older sister, Jessica Simpson.
And... something to make your day...
The Dan Band is best known by many as the wedding band in the movie Old School. These funny guys do all kinds of covers, but this one will make your day! If it doesn't, I'll give you your money back (thank God this is free).
You have been very good to me. I have always appreciated the fact that you record and save my shows until I tell you I don't need them anymore. I love that you allow me to fast forward through commercials, and pause live television. For the most part you have been dependable. However, last night's American Idol was very important. You know that I have yoga on Thursday nights and so it is VERY important for you, DVR, to record every moment so that I can be informed. DVR, you let me down. I only had the chance to see 2 of the 4 wildcard contestants named because you stopped recording before the show ended. DVR, I'm mad at you, but I'm not going to break up with you. I can't try to change you. I am just going to have to learn to accept your imperfections.
With a little bitterness, Colleen
'Idol' Top 13 selected...
The top 13 include; Anoop Desai, Jasmine Murray, Megan Corkrey, Matt Giraud, Kris Allen, Danny Gokey, Alexis Grace, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert, Scott MacIntyre, Jorge Nunez, Lil Rounds and Michael Sarver.
Just a couple of thoughts; I love Anoop. I also love Scott and hope that he gets a haircut. I am so relieved that the judges didn't ask Tatiana to stay, but I am disappointed at how much they indulged her during this last round. Lil Rounds is the best name for a singer in the entire world.
I can't believe that for one second the producers of American Idol honestly believe that we really think the judges picked the final four in a break. Are you kidding me? Did anyone else notice how calculated their reactions were to the singers? The dead giveaway was the way they reacted to Anoop. They went on and on about his personality, so that they would be justified in selecting him for the last position (the "previously unannounced" 13th slot that everyone had been talking about for days). I love the show, but wish they wouldn't play their viewers for fools so often. Who am I kidding, it is show business, after all.
The stars are... dropping...
Jewel and Nancy O'Dell, two of the stars slated to compete on this season's Dancing With the Stars are leaving the show before it's even begun. The two sustained injuries during the month long rehearsals and have been advised by their doctors not to continue. Girl Next Door, Playboy Bunny, and Hef ex Holly Madison will replace Jewel, but will not have the amount of preparation time that the other stars have had to compete.
To be fair, I don't watch the Bachelor. I swore off it after 3 seasons because I realized that I was too grossed out by watching non-actors kiss. I know, it's weird, but it's the truth, that was what did me in - the spit string. So, I haven't been watching it, but I cannot avoid hearing about what Jason did to Melissa! Here's the deal, he proposed to Melissa at the final rose ceremony, and then decided he didn't love her - they weren't getting along off camera. So, he dumped her and took the second runner up, Molly.
I honestly think the only thing about this story that makes it scandalous is the fact taht this all happened on TV. The fact that their relationship was up for the scrutiny of millions of people. Don't we want him to pick the person he really likes best? Isn't it best that he let Melissa off the hook instead of acting like it was all good for the camera?
In any case, it sure sounds like it was good TV, people can't stop talking about it. Also, all of this drama is telling me that there are reasons beyond the kissing thing that I don't watch this show. The only couple who could ever find successful love in the fish bowl were Trista and Ryan. They are like a fairy tale.
What do you think about what went down on the Bachelor? I would love to hear from people who actually watched the show!
