    Rihanna, please...

please, please, please, step away from Chris Brown.  Rumor has it that the two who were involved in an alleged dispute resulting in Rihanna's hospitalization due to battery right before the Grammy Awards, are trying to mend fences.  I suppose nobody really  knows what goes on in their relationship but them, however, if for no other reason than for the sake of setting a good example, I wish she'd leave him.

    Seriously?

Calista Flockhart has never seen the movies that made her fiance Harrison Ford famous those many years ago.  She claims that she has still never seen the original Star Wars trilogy.  She was 12 when the movie first came out and blames her rural upbringing.  She says that the movie theater was an hour away and they never made the trip to see the popular movie.  Calista, there's this really cool new thing that they call Netflix.  They actually can deliver DVDs to your house.  Maybe she'll get around to it someday.

    Be careful what you post...

It could come back to haunt you.  A teenager posted comments on Facebook about her new job, "first day of work, omg!!! So dull!!!"  Shortly after, 16-year-old Kimberly Swann was called into her boss' office and fired on the spot for that very comment.  Her boss told her that such publicity was not good for the company.

How about this... how about, you fire her because you don't want any press, and then she does an interview with the BBC.  Kind of seems like that plan backfired...

    Check it out here.

Possibly the best news you'll hear all day...

Conan O'Brien and Andy Richter will be back together again.  Andy Richter spent 7 years as Conan O'Brien's sidekick on NBC's "Late Night," and now will be joining O'Brien as his announcer on the "Tonight" Show when O'Brien takes over hosting duties in June.

It may come as a little surprise that I am a complete TV junky, and my best years were when Andy Richter was on with Conan.  This new warms the ****les of my heart.  All is right with the Universe!

    ...and the second best news...

The stage version of "Little House on the Prairie" which was originally staged right here on our home turf at the Guthrie Theater will kick-off a national tour starting... right here on our home turf!  The show will run at the Ordway from October 13-25, and Melissa Gilbert will again play the part of Ma.

As far as 'the Hills' is concerned...

They can count themselves down one viewer (I'm sure they are devistated that they've finally lost me).  First of all, Audrina Patridge (who the AP calls "Audrina Partridge" in this article - which made me giggle because that's how you really  know you're a nobody - when the AP doesn't even bother to find the correct spelling of your name) posted a video of a robbery caught on surveillance at her home.

Now, the big news is that frienemies Heidi Montag and Lauren Conrad are huggin' it out on the new season.  I'm over it.  I like my reality TV real and full of drama.  I realize that I'm the last to the table on this, but truly, if I am finally backing away (and I'll seriously watch just about anything and like it), then we really know that 'the Hills' is doomed.  This is good news.

Just a few quick reactions to last night's Academy Awards...

I really really really enjoyed the show this year, but have heard mixed reviews.  What did you think?  Did you even notice that it was staged differently?

    Yay 'Slumdog'!

    Yay Heath Ledger!

Yay Sean Penn (run, do not walk to see 'Milk'!)

Reese Witherspoon, might consider firing her stylist.  I was looking for an ice skating rink.

Was I the only one who thought it was a little awkward when Jennifer Aniston was presenting that they cut to a shot of Brad and Angelina?

... and while we're on the topic of Brad and Angelina, could they have been less affectionate?

What's up with Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn, I thought they got divorced, and neither of them are wearing their rings, but they've been popping up at awards shows together.  They showed more affection than Brad and Angelina.

    Try not to worry...

Says Lindsay Lohan about the latest hulaballoo about her weight.  Lohan is blaming her slight frame on stress.  She urges her fans not to panic.

She says to US Weekly, "I eat as much as I always have," and puts her weightloss down to "working a lot, stress... and lack of sleep when I travel.  I think it's all that stuff that adds up."

Regarding the public's opinion, "They've already said everything about me that they can say. And I've never really cared then. I'm my own person, and people can say whatever they want. I'm still going to be the person that I am. Everyone goes through something, and everyone can relate to something. I think that I don't ever want to pretend to be something that I'm not. I'm not perfect; nobody is perfect. If you try to be perfect, you'll probably go crazy. But you should always accept yourself for who you are. And that's what I've done, and I'm happy."

There probably are very few people who consider the complexities of this situation like I do.  Most people probably read this news and then go on with their lives, I obessess about this.  First of all, not only is it okay for her fans to panic, but it's essential for her fans to panic.  Actually, it's essential for her fan's parents to panic.  She sets an example to young girls about what is "cool" and right now, her image tells young women that thin is in.  Not just thin, superslim, skinny, twiggy, sickley.

Secondly, does anybody else wonder what she means by "working"?  Is she even in a movie right now?  I would imagine that she would have been more stressed in the days when she was actually playing roles in films.

Third, I'm thinking that any day now some genius with a little marketing prowess is going to release a book called "The Stress Diet."  And earn some big bucks.

The one thing I Lindsay Lohan respect for here is that she doesn't care what people say about her.  This is one lesson we could all stand to learn from Lindsay.

    This makes me giggle...

    In support of Rihanna...

Kanye West is doing it, Jay Z is doing it, they're showing their support for Rihanna after her hospitalization at the hand of boyfriend Chris Brown.  Kanye West said to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show Tuesday, "I feel like that's my baby sis and I would do any and everything to help her in any situation."

I can't imagine what must be going on in Rihanna's mind right now, complicated for sure because she is a celebrity.  I hope that for the sake of her young fans, she can find the strength to become an advocate and an example for people who suffer from this kind of violence.  I hope that she recovers both physically, and more importantly, emotionally first.  This is such a heartbreaking story, but unfortunately one that is lived more often than it is heard.

Our little Mandy is growing up...

Mandy Moore is engaged to marry rock star Ryan Adams.  Not to be confused with  'Everything I do I do it for you' singer Brian Adams.  Ryan Adams sings one of my favorite songs:

Now he'll be singing it to Mandy Moore.  I wonder if she'll sing this back to him:

    ... probably not.

    And it's official...

Nicollette Sheridan will be leaving Wisteria Lane.  Edie Britt will appear for the final time on an April episode.  I have to say, I was totally loving her character this season.  Don't they say it's best to go when you're at the top of your game?
