Did you read the article in the Star and Tribune today?  The medical community was talking about breast self exams as being optional-with research showing that they are not more likely to prevent death from breast cancer and that most lumps felt by women end up to be benign.

What are your thoughts on this?  Are breast self exams completely worthless-or is this recommendation coming from the desire to spend less on expensive tests for false alarms.  What about the people who've detected a lump and then gone in-especially for young woman who are not getting regular mammograms-was the self breast exam useless for them?

For me I think I will play it safe and just keep doing the exam-what are your thoughts?

I say feel them up as much as you can! Wink It's saved lives before and will undoubtedly save lives again. No harm in doing it, so go for it!!!

I guess it depends on what your routine is now, if you are doing them why stop?
