I completely agree.

It is difficult to debate or discuss anything on this board when the the self-nominated gabster police get completely riled up when someone says something against the station or a particular personality.  I'm so tired of the "we like people who are positive" and "how dare you attack someone's personality!?!?" comments.  Apparently, the only way not to get chastised on this board is to say "I LOVE EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"  All this political correctness is really so exhausting....

There is a difference between saying one doesn't like a show and calling people names. Additionally, successful Internet message boards often moderate name calling. If FM107 doesn't want to go down that path, the entire community suffers.

Because name calling is childish.

How would you feel if someone went and stood in your kitchen or place of work and said similar things about you?

I would bet you wouldn't feel to keen about that. Constructive critisism or discusion is one thing, personal attacks are quite unnecessary and serve no real purpose other than as a cry for attention or validation for the person launching them, at the expense of another human being.

It's quite sad, actually.

We are all adults here...right? Or are we?

What is cyberbullying?

It happens when kids use their phones or the Internet to create and send harassing or humiliating messages and images. Nasty comments, lies, and embarrassing photos, videos, and polls can be spread widely through instant messaging (IM) or phone texting, and by posts on social networking sites. It can happen anytime - at school or home - and can involve large groups of kids. The combination of the boldness created by being anonymous and the desire to be seen as "cool" can cause a kid who normally wouldn't say anything mean face-to-face to show off for other kids.

Why it matters

Nothing crushes kids' self-confidence faster than humiliation. And just imagine a public humiliation sent instantly to everyone they know. Sadly, hurtful information posted on the Internet is extremely difficult to prevent or remove, and millions of people can see it. Most cyberbullying happens when adults aren't around, so parents and teachers often see only the depression or anxiety that results from being hurt or bullied. This emotional damage can last a lifetime.

Parent tips for all kids

  • Give them a code of conduct. Tell them that if they wouldn't say something to someone's face, they shouldn't text it, IM it, or post it.
  • Ask your kids if they know someone who has been cyberbullied. Sometimes they will open up about others' pain before admitting their own.

MINNESOTA: Introduced new legislation into the State Senate that would require that all school districts in Minnesota expand their anti-bullying policies to address and respond to cyberbullying at the local level.

Feel you're being harshly criticized by the G-ster police? Crazy folk who just want to live and interact in a peace loving society?  People, who are willing to overlook others foibles because everyone has issues?  Well maybe it's deserved. (see above)

Sure the station isn't perfect it's constantly changing trying to make things better, but when criticism isn't helpful it's degrading or humiliating how is that making the station you listen to better?

We get it; you don't like Lori and or Julia, point taken now what? Do you have any helpful advice that will make their show better?  Have you tried emailing the station managers with advice? Or just spent all your energy on the message boards?

Here's an idea, change the station. If enough of you do that listenership will do down they'll stop being in the number one spot.

Now feel free to post away as long as it's not malicious and or libelous...

Janice - sometimes its just 'time' for people to really hear the truth about those talking on the radio.  I used to Listen to Lori and Julia a long time ago but gave up for many of the reasons people share.  I think what they are trying to say here is that its time for a change.  I have never felt they were appropriate for a radio show.  They are definitely over the top and unprofessional.

If I were on the radio - paid to entertain - I would know you have to take the good and the bad.  I would hope that L&J would read what their 'listeners' are saying and maybe take it to help them improve.  It seems to me they are losing listeners because of how much they are moving towards inappropriate.

They are also trying to tell FM107 that its time for a change.  Kevyn Burger is a professional radio host & would never take her topics to the extreme that Lori and Julia do.  I agree that Lori does put Julia down alot and its part of the reason I stopped listening.  Her disrespect towards Julia when she talks about her kids.

If Lori and Julia cannot look at what is being said and realize its time to clean up their act - then its only going to force many people to stop listening to FM107.  Look at any station - yes its fine to stop listening and to change the channel but come on - it is really time for them to either clean up their act - get serious or FM107 is going to take the hit in the end.  If they are permitted to continue the way they run the show - they should be on at a time that is fit for their type of chatter - after 9pm at night.  To have them on a 'drive time' - forced me to leave 107 permanently.

Hoping FM107 really takes a look at the feedback - change is good.

Exactly Because name calling is childish you'd think these grown adult women would get over that British stars whose teeth do not meet their standards don't have to fix them just because they have the money to. Why do they care so much who gets their teeth fixed? Why do they have to put these people down? Really, they don't just say that about stars either they talk about other people also.

LoJ happens to have a radio station to voice their nasty, childish name calling. What are we supposed to do sit back and let them think it's O.K to to put down people with imperfect teeth. Women who love themselves the way they are and don't want to Botox their faces or get chemical peels due to allergic reations.

In my opinion they personally attack from their radio show every time they say negative comments about anyone. Donny has done this also which is very disappointing. I don't listen to them any more unless they are on when I get into the car during their show hours. I immediately turn it.  Mona
