I am not sure what it is about Fall but I love cooking! Maybe its the excess of produce that lands on your kitchen counters as you are cleaning up the garden or for me my husband loves to watch football (I cook while he watches). Here is what we cooked this weekend... Kale with Garlic and hot pepper flakes Garlic Green Beans Stuffed Green Peppers with homemade tomato sauce Chili with fresh tomato, peppers and shredded beef What did you cook? |

I made buffalo chicken sandwiches, this is sort of like a Sloppy Joe with a kick! I can't remember where I got the recipe, but I just love them. I love the idea and flavors of Buffalo wings but hate the mess and eating around bones! Call me crazy but, sometimes bones freak me out! I usually get the boneless versions, but check this out these are even healthy, because there is no deep frying involved. Here goes: (You can double or expand recipe accordingly) In Crock pot add two large skinless boneless chicken breasts. 1/2 cup franks hot sauce (original) 2 tbls butter Cook until you can shred chicken breast (about two hours on low heat) put breast in a large bowl and using two forks shred chicken add back to crockpot sauce and stir so the meat absorbs the sauce you can add more sauce if needed but you don't want it dripping in it! cook for another 1/2 hour or so put on sandwich buns (the softer the better)! sprinkle with your favorite crumbled blue or gorgonzola cheese and enjoy! Serve with whatever you want for a side dish, we had cole slaw and chips and celery sticks of course! |

Does anyone have any good recipes for using apples? I bought the apple crisp kit in the store but it would be nice to try to make it from scratch. Or even make an apple pie. Speaking of which, did anyone hear when Sheletta described her attempt to make an apple pie and how she tried sucking out the excess liquid with a turkey baster? It was hilarious. |
