I may not have always enjoyed Kevyn over the years but she is a HELL of a lot better than Lori and Julia!!!  Dumb and Dumber are my age and they don't have ANYTHING in common with me other than that.  Kevyn is 10 yrs older and we had SO MUCH in common or she had ideas that made me think.  She should never have been let go.  the one survey of the station i did i gave her a good review and tanked DD.  Hope they keep Sheletta.  Doesn't fit the show my a*s.

In my opinion, Lori and Julia should be the first ones to go.  I would rather listen to 830 than their drivel.  It's bad enough when the show is airing in real time.....then there are the endless replays.  I listen to 107.1 from 6:45 am until 3 pm.  Then I switch to something else, so I don't have to put up with them.  I realize that everyone has their own tastes, but Kevin respected her audience and her shows were pertinent, informative, and fun, without being absurd and insulting my intelligence.  Best of luck, Kevin.  Sorry to 'see' you go.  I'm sure it won't be long before the powers that be realize they've made a HUGE mistake.

AMEN!!!!  you said it perfectly!!

You've fired Kevyn Berger?  Lame, lame excuses for doing so.  107.1 fm, YOU'RE FIRED.  Reason:  Making ill decisions about what your listeners want.  You continue to ignore the voice of the listener.  You're going to evolve your station into extinction!

How sad. The more Kevyn was on, the more I liked her. It was one of the only interesting shows, in my opinion. And I loved Sheletta, too. How sad, and I'm sorry Kevyn. It sounds like you have a ton of people pulling for you. I know you'll find something worthy of your great talent.

I find the weekend shows more interesting, as they're filled with (accurate) facts and helpful things. Not boring gossip and celebrity "news" I just don't care about.

"Pop Culture", "celebrity news", "gossip"?  Are you kidding me?  Do you really think that this is all your listeners care about?  We care about friendship, motherhood and life events that don't always include a filter of celebrity.  I have laughed out loud when listening to Kevyn's show and shed a tear or two as well.  Her show was about looking at life in a positive way and finding the humor in the everyday.  I think this was a huge mistake and I for one will start to look for something else to listen to during that time frame.  I will have ample opportunity to find all the gripping details of the Lady Ga-Ga, Brad Pitt and Jon and Kate with all the other shows.  You need to rethink this decision.

Well, that about puts the nail in the coffin for me.  So long, FM107; it's been real.

This is extremely disappointing.  Dumbing down the format even more.  The original vision of the station was a "Vanity Fair" magazine on the air, and now FM 107.1 eliminated an intelligent, insightful voice.  I will follow Kevyn broadcasts to wherever she lands, and like a smart cat, she will land on her feet.  I am not going to denigrate other programs as they have their place and flavor. I have my favorites - Ian's show and Jason's program, and the Polichicks on the weekend.   I appreciated the addition of Sheletta as voice as a person of color, and her remarkable humor, and I loved Kevyn's relationship with her as a friend and sister, comforting and pushing each other's buttons.

Kevyn - you are a extraordinary woman, and I look forward to your next  move.

Im shocked! One of the reasons I have listened to 107 for all these years is the heart and soul of the station and its programing, In firing Kevyn you have acted like all the faceless big business jerks that we the people are so tired of. We have to live that stuff and the time in the car with your original "starters" have always been my favorite. A lot of your programming is loud talking with little content except with your original shows.. Perez Hilton is not what we want. Kevyn has taken us through her illness and showed how to handle lifes surprises with grace humor and intelligence. Then YOU fire her???!!!! WOW! I dont know if Ian and Margery and Lori and Julia will hold my loyalty, Did you think perhaps Shelita doesnt work??? I feel that you have a diamond in Kevyn and you curbed her for what??

All I can do is find another station that fits, sadly 107 is not that station. Good luck with your endeavor to drive the station into the ground. My parents listened to WCCO when I was a kid. I can still hear the tune they would play and the programs were comforting, clever and fun. It was a peek into the adult world and it was something to look forward to. It seems to me you are trying to be too many different things, keep your standard of high quality educated fun active full of local interest programing with HEART.

MPR is nice but a bit dry at times. 107 was a good fit for me,I guess I am no longer your focus listener. My typical day starts with Ian and Margery, then Kevyn, shut the radio off till Lori and Julia are on the air. Change is good, sadly you getting rid of Kevyn Burger is a terrible decision on your part. I believe a lot of listeners will support Kevyn and look elsewhere for their radio programming. How can you not realize this?

Give Kevyn her job back with the power to develop her own show and we will be happy. She is part of the backbone of the station. Do a Lettermen and say you made a mistake, people respond well to that. Sorry to say that Sheleta,Wayland and Madame,Colleen and the Boys dont do it for me. There is a sarcasm that has shrouded your station that is hard to listen too. Your original programming doesnt have that note to it and Kevyn didnt play that way. What a sad thing to lose her.

So long it's been good to know ya~

Former Listener,

I agree with most - Kevyn is probably the most "real" person on that station, along with Ian & Margery and Jason.  I generally listen all day, and turn off as soon as LoJ starts.  If the station really becomes about gossip and hollywood news - I won't be listening anymore.  Kevyn talked about real things that real people want to listen too.  A little hollywood news and gossip is plenty - I don't want all-day programming on it!  If Ian & Margery are next on the chopping block (since they actually put out some intelligent conversation that doesn't revolve around hollywood) - I'll change the station, and never turn back.  Maybe it's time to start listening to music again!!

Station honchos - listen up!  Look at the outpouring going on here - I don't know what numbers you were looking at - but obviously you were WAY OFF on this one!!  What a giant mistake!!

I too am extremely sad that Kevyn is gone from FM107. What is surprising me is that I'm upset enough to not want to listen to the station anymore. I mean really, this isn't life or death (at least it's not for me.) The problem is that I really like many of the other programs (LoJ is my least favorite and, except for Donnie, I don't care if I miss it -- but that's hard to do since they rerun it constantly.)

I think the dumbing down is the thing that bothers me the most. I am smart and intelligent woman and I don't care what new face-lift, botox or boy-banging is going on in Hollywood. Especially not so much that I want another two hours of my radio listening time to go to that. And I, personally, enjoyed having  Sheletta on Kevyn's show. She lightened things up a bit and she has a great outlook on life. I thought the two of them worked very well together.

I really like Jason and Alexis. Yes, it's a Hollywood focus -- but they spend a lot of time poking fun at Hollywood and don't seem to be too much into the drooling over Hollywood. Colleen and the Boys just ignore it and come up with their own stuff. The Balanced Breakfast has a good focus on news events and weird news and Ian does a good job of putting a new spin on the news. Lori and Julia are OK -- but they are a bit too obsessed with outer beauty and not enough on inner beauty and character. (At least that's the schtick they present.)

That said, FM107 is not going to get rid of Lori and Julia. The last I knew, it's their best rated program. Meaning, it's probably the one show that actually makes money. Part of that could extend from the fact that the show is on during drive time and people are more likely to be able to actually listen. (Like I'm trying to do right now -- but I can't get the on-line listening to work here at the office today and radios don't work in this building.) The reason they replay it all the time is because it's the best rated show.

This could be changing now that they've introduced Jason Matheson. I wouldn't be surprised if Jason's show isn't garnering ratings the same or better than LoJ. This would also make station management see doing a Hollywood gossip and pop culture format as being more profitable. They added a Hollywood gossip and pop culture program and it's garnering good ratings.

I'm anxious to learn where Kevyn lands. Perhaps WCCO830 could start punching up their female listening audience by giving Kevyn Burger and Jeanette Trompetter a show from, oh say, 9-11 Monday-Friday.
