I've never posted before, but I would like to say.......I'm a 3-year avid listener to fm107, and I will continue to listen to the shows I like, which are Ian and Margery, Jason, Colleen & boys and some of the weekend shows. I like Kevyn Burger and I really like the Kevyn portrayed by all the other radio hosts this week. I didn't really like her show that much however, and rarely listened to it. I also like Lori and Julia as people, but rarely find anything to relate to on their show, so listen only sporadically. While I don't care for Lori and Julia's show, it is painful to listen to the personal attacks coming out. It seems to me that it's simply a ratings issue for each show and the listeners are what drives that. I suspect the powers that be will not necessarily be looking for a host to dumb down the 9:00 show, but rather one that will generate the most listeners. Who knows, maybe we will see something more informative than celebrity gossip, but more entertaining at the same time. One other thing. Based on what the other hosts have said, I could only wish I had as many genuine friends and had touched as many people as Kevyn has. I still wouldn't listen to her show, but my goodness, she is living a full life and I wish the best for her in her next career. |

Minnesota is one state that has the buyer's market with the softest touch. Especially the mani-pedi "eat, pray, love" obsessed FM107.1 listener base. All Anna Wintour has to do is declare that Minnesotans look like little houses and they rush off to go on a diet, but at the same time shovel down hotdogs at the local sports game then complain that they're too busy to get off their **** and go to the local grocery store because they're just too busy. |

???? Really..wtf are you talking about and what does it have to do with anything? Whatevs..oh and FurQ too...Anywya, I'm very gratified to see that I'm not the only one who is baffled by the Lori and Julia thing...I'll leave it at that but I could go on and on. Ok just one more thing..Not only are they not smart but they make their stupid statements as though they were fact. They take a shard of something here and a shred of something there and then go on the air and say "they read it" (which I doubt) And the interviews are soo painful. I agree that I cringe thinking about them being the ambassadors for Minnesota women. I can hear in the voices of some of the people they interview..They're like, Is this a joke?? After sleeping on it I've decided Kevyn is way too smart and classy for what this station has become. It would have been sad to see her become a ratings whore like the rest of them (and management made it clear that that's what it takes..Can't string 3 words together? That's cool! Just talk about your vagina alot and laugh like you're at a 2 for 1 happy hour!) Yeah Kevyn's too good for all that. I think it might be one of those..what do you call it..blessings in disguise..

Am I the only 1 on here who listens to Colleen & the Boys? Everything is a comparison between Kevyn and Lori and Julia. Thats like saying Herbert Hoover was a better/worse president than Howard Taft... How could you POSSIBLY compare the two?!?!
Just listen from 1-3 and pipe down. This isn't high school. Show business just happens to be, uh, a BUSINESS. Kevyn was a victim of that aspect of it. She's still highly respected in my book, and she didn't sell out to Clear Channel. |

You don't like Kevyn leaving, fine, but the way people are talking on this thread is sad. Personal attacks do not belong here. The way people are speaking about Shelletta and Jason make me especially uncomfortable. Ugly words. |

This is regarding Emily and FM 107.1. I do agree picking on Lori and Julia was a bit harsh, but I imagine you do some stand-up when you are not marketing. I laughed so hard my wife slapped me back on the chair I was falling off of. But seriously, I know that most of the folks who we see at FM 107 events and most of our friends are bright and caring people who believe strongly in a purpose driven life. Kevyn represents that philosophy. Do not go down the road of slop and bring her back. We and many of the best listeners miss her and will never listen to pop journalism. Minnesota Public Radio is easy to turn to. Peace- |
