I tried to send an e-mail message to FM107 this morning, using the FM107 website, but received an error message. Guess I'll post it here instead: After sleeping on the latest news that FM107 had let Kevyn Burger go, I woke with a fresh confusion over why FM107 would let someone as professional and smart, as Kevyn Burger, go. I have been an FM107 listener for years. Being a stay-at-home-mom, my day has been rescheduled to allow listening time for my favorite talk radio programs. I loved listening to Kevyn Burger every morning. Until Sheletta came on board. I could never understand why Kevyn Burger would lower her standards to have a sidekick like Sheletta. And the more Sheletta talked, the more offended I was. My listening to Kevyn Burger came to a standstill the day that Sheletta talked about "allowing her husband to have 50 pumps" before he went back to sleep and she got back to surfing the internet. Top that piece of inappropriateness with her confession that she lied so that she could get backstage to meet Bill Cosby when he was in town. And she lied that same evening so that she could take her young son to an event that did not allow children. Kevyn Burger, a class act, was the wrong one to fire. And I'm concerned that FM107 is lowering their standards to a Sheletta-proportion. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a prude. I love Colleen & The Boys and their sexual innuendos. Kevyn Burger had a great way of balancing smart talk and smack talk. Until Sheletta joined the team. You done gone and fired the wrong gal. This latest step has me rethinking my listening choices. How sad. |

I also stopped listening to Kevyn after Sheletta joined. I just couldn't stand the sound of her voice. And to pair her with Kevyn was just downright cruel. |

I also only listen sporadically after Shaletta came to the show...for some of the same reason...AND if I heard Dahlin...ONE more time I was going to spit on my OWN radio. I was an EVERYDAY every show listen of Kevyn's I am sickened by what these "executives" are doing/done to the station that I listened to so faithfully. DUMBED it down they did! |

I also tried to send a message to FM107 via their contact page but received Server Error 500. You are so right that they fired the wrong person. No one is perfect but Kevyn was middle-of-the-road ... even if you didn't love her, you didn't hate her! |

Kitchenlogic, I couldn't agree more with you & I shared the same opinions on another thread. Just be prepared now to be chastised for expressing your opinions, as I was - and as were all who dared to say anything negative about any FM107 hosts or shows. Apparently you are not supposed to mention hosts/shows you do not like - that "disappoints" other posters & they will then label you as "negative" and tell you that you have the option of turning your radio off. I'm not sure why Jason Matheson (who I love listening to & have always thought sounds like a terrific person) just posted, saying he didn't like the "racist" posts. I have not seen anything I'd call racist. Maybe there are some I haven't seen, but if he said this, based on posts from people like me, who said they don't like Sheletta's voice or expressions, I don't believe any of us mentioned her color. She could be purple and orange and I would not enjoy listening to her. She could also be white and I would not enjoy listening to her. Frankly, after this, I don't think I'll bother with these boards anymore. It has been mentioned, more than once here that there is a "clique" of people who monitor these boards & then attempt to shame & put down those who expresses opinions different from theirs - thereby "shutting out" & "shutting up" those they don't choose to include in their little Junior High School type clique.

Hello my darling dancinqueen :-) I too, adore you! The comments I was referring to were on the facebook fan page and were quickly removed! |

My darling dancinqueen...there's no need to thank me! I truly, truly don't take things said about our show personally....would I like everyone to enjoy our broadcast? Sure! Because, Lex and I work hard - as do the other shows - to put on a fun, energetic program...but I know the reality...when you are as crazy and "out there" and open about yourself as I am...people are not gonna like you...and that's ok! I heard this story once about Patti LaBelle...Patti had heard someone say something very nasty about her....and was deeply hurt...her sister then grabbed her and said: "look girl, not everyone is gonna love that big mouth of yours, and that's ok!" -- I think about that story ALL THE TIME! My blog post was simply reminding folks that, look, we get it, we are sad about Kev Kev too...but can we voice our opinion about the loss of that program in a way that doesn't hurt others, who are just coming into work everyday and doing what they are supposed to do? That's all! Anyway, enough of this serious talk...go have yourself a FABULOUS weekend sweetheart and I look forward to seeing you soon! All my best! Jas ;-) |

Jason and Kevyn were the only shows I listened to. What I don't understand is why they left Sheletta on. It is like they handed Kevyn's show to her. I was willing to listen to her until she said negative things about Bob Dylan and his new album. Does she have no idea that Bob is a Icon? So now it is just Jason for me. |
