Alright - I need to vent a little....for two days straight I have heard different shows broach the topic of c-sections and the stars...which turned into the reason all people have c-sections is because they want to have children the "the easy way" and they want a tummy tuck. I heard one caller say that she didn't choose the easy way out, she had her babies naturally and went through 48 hours of labor with her first. I was literally screaming at my radio by this time(my phone was dead or I would have called in). Believe me, I would have taken the 48 hours of labor over the 2 months of recovery it took from my second c-section. Not all of us chose to have a c-section but because of whatever reason, we had to or were advised to from our obstetricians. You are a mother, no matter if you delivered vaginally or by c-section. You shouldn't be made to feel bad or guilty for having your child one way or another. End of story.

I am with you 100%!  I had three c-sections, the first because my son and I  both nearly died when I was in labor because I had a placenta abruption.  Then I fell into a "once a cesarean, always a cesarean" rule for my next two children.  I have heard one talk show host go as far as stating women who have cesareans are "whimping out."  There is nothing easy about recovering from a cesarean, especially an emergency cesarean.

I did one baby one way and one the next and I have to say that the natural way is the easy way.  I tell everyone to avoid the C-section if at all possible.  By the way, I was not offered a tummy tuck with my c-section.

I hope I did a decent job while filling-in with Meredith of saying that I a. Don't think that a c-section is by any means the "easy way out" and b.  Don't understand why we care which door and child came out of.

I do think it's slightly remarkable that an overwhelming number of celebrities get c-sections and I don't believe it's directly proportional to the number of non-celebrity c-sections.  I still don't know why which way the baby emerged is important to the story of a baby's birth.  The point is that the baby and the mother are healthy, that's what matters.

I am the proud mom of three very large boys. Baby #1 20 hours of labor, cord around neck he almost died except I knew something was wrong and Doctor (also a mom) trusted my feeling did ultra sound and saw cord around neck. So I pushed stopped pushing DR unwraps cord I finish the delivery. He was 10lb 12oz 21" long.15 month later next son maybe 2 hours at home in labor. I went into the hospital,RN broke water 15 minutes later boy #2 12 lbs 3oz 21" long. 4 years later baby #3. Now I know something is just not right,I shared this with my DR. (who is also pregnant with her first baby). She is searching for the heartbeat where she has heard it at past appointments and it is not there. She finds it on top of my very large tummy instead of the bottom as before. 3 Ultra sounds later and I am admitted to the hospital and prepped for turning the baby. That's right he decided to flip and stand up in mommy tummy. Turning the baby all I can say is do not let anyone do this to you!!!!!! Male Doctors do not have a clue how much this hurts. I only wish I could have shared my pain with this Doctor. So I am to deliever as soon as a room opens up for me. I am to walk around to help induce labor. Baby #3 flips again! I had a C-Section at 11pm that night after the doctor had finished all the other deliveries. 13 LBS 12oz 22".

Yes I had very large boys. I would have prefered not to have a C-Section only because of the longer stay in hospital and longer time getting better. But both a aceptable ways to have babies. We need the healthly no matter what.
