What's your secret shopping find?

I just found out that Jimmy Johns sells their "day old" french bread for $0.50 / loaf. That's cheaper than any of the grocery stores and their french bread is not bad! I used it for french toast and sandwiches today!

So, tell me do you have an item that you buy exclusively from one place, a special store that saves you money, or a special shopping secret?

It's not really a secret but I get Romaine Lettuce and red peppers at Costco.  The lettuce is about 4.00 for six heads, and the peppers are six for 6.50-I've had to pay 4.00 for one before at Byerlies.

Kelly, do you eat that much lettuce in one week? I always have wanted to buy the veggies in bulk, but worry that they'd all go bad too soon :)

I usually do a salad for lunch and dinner-so we tend to go through lettuce pretty quickly.  It ends up being cheaper to buy in bulk because I would probably do two sets of three lettuce heads during the week-which would be about 7.00.  But sometimes the last head is icky by the time I get to it.

(When we had our guinea pig, all of our veggie scraps went to him-so we had much less waste.)

I just found out that at Taco Bell you can ask for any of their items "el fresco" and that means they will take off the sauce/cheese and put pico de gallo on, making it much healthier and super-yummy!

My friend has a tween and teen clothing retailer, specializing in “Clothes
you love and your mother won't hate.”

Also, she serves fashion conscious and yet real human sized
adolescents.  For instance, “those
who are small on the bottom and developed on the top” can find outfits.  Basically, clothes that are fun, appropriate and not
geared toward sexual suggestiveness.

I want to help her store get more visible.  Does anyone recommend respected bloggers whose readers might have interest in this store?

P.S. It's at zelaz.com

One of my favorite stores to shop at is Opitz Outlet in St. Louis Park.  It is a clothing store that has all designer names and they are always 70-80% off retail.  They have everything from: clothes (although not many kids clothes), purses, shoes, and jewelry.  It gets pretty addicting if you are in the mood to shop.  I live on the oppisite side of town, but whenever I'm in that area I always make it a point to stop by!!

My friend just found the exact chairs she was looking for at ARC in Richfield. $4.00 for the chair she was looking for at Ikea.  She also found her dining room chairs for 6 bucks each.  An entire dining room set was there for $150.00 table and 6 chairs and it was in great condition.
