It's not every day that G.R. has an epiphany, or even an interesting thought. But things were different on Wednesday: Lightning struck.

Well, not really. But Your Humble Main Man of The Glow noticed something as he perused the latest issue of Rolling Stone (the magazine).

There, in the table of contents, was a picture of the great Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. He was chilling in his very decked out--scarves, boas, harmonicas, make-up--dressing room before a hometown gig in Boston.

And it hit me: That dude is old.

I mean, not old-old. But he is 61.

And, frankly, 30 years ago, nobody thought he would make it to 40. He and guitarist/collaborator Joe Perry, remember, were once referred to as the Toxic Twins: A play on the Mick and Keith of the Stones being known as the Glimmer Twins, and a nod to the amount of substances consumed by Aerosmith (the band).

But here he is, Tyler that is, still kickin' it in that photo, ready to embark on a massive summer tour around the country with his band mates.

That's amazing, frankly, doing that after all these years.

So That Got The Glow To Thinking

Who else is still kickin' it?

In that very same issue of Rolling Stone, there's a shot of Bruce Springsteen rockin' the Bonnaroo festival. The Boss is 59, and seems to be on a never-ending tour.

Bob Dylan is actually on a never-ending tour, and he's 68.

Who else is out there? Music seems to be a place where nobody actually fades away anymore. Use to be that stars would rise, age, fall into obscurity or seclusion, then croak.

But that seems to be happening less and less.

Comebacks are common, like Liza Minelli showing up on the "Arrested Development" Tee-Vee program a few years back.

But increasingly, stars never go away. Is it inspiring? Or is it sometimes pathetic?

Tell the Glow who surprises you by still kickin' it. Good or bad. But I like tales of inspiration the best.

Share it all here, good people.

And the SuperStar Not Fade Away AfterGlow Prize Closet Bonus Code Word is ... kick.

All Fridayed Up tomorrow, good people. -gr

Bill Cosby, Bill Murray, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Bill E. Goat, the Bill of Rights (minus the whole Freedom of Speech part), the Buffalo Bills, Wild Bill Hic****'s legacy, Lando Calrissian, Billboard's charting system (minus Timothy White, of course) and all the bills that keep kickin' me in the pants every month.  ZING!

I always thought that Cat Stevens was a god.  I was so disappointed that he quit writing music.  I always wondered how many songs lay buried in him--like unborn children.  I like it that he's performing again and I'd love it if he came here.  I was watching The Four Seasons on YouTube the other day and saw that Frankie Valli is 75 years old.  He's lookin' pretty fly in those clips, though.  Can it really be?
