[General]
I had the pleasure of speaking to an organization of young professionals in Minneapolis last evening with my partner. We spoke about relationships and a balanced life for young professionals. As we spoke, I realized how fortunate I am to no longer be on the fast moving corporate treadmill. Quality of life is more important to me at this stage of my life. Material possessions, titles, hobnobbing with the “movers and shakers” have less intrigue for me now. Though I admire the ambition and energy these young people have, I am thrilled to be past that stage of life. Age has brought me the wisdom to have focused in on what my core values and goals are and know that doing what I love means more than making a big check or driving a fancy car. I have more shoes and handbags than I need and have been fortunate to have traveled the world. Now all I want is to spend time making a difference in peoples' lives with my business, watching my beautiful daughter grow up to become a wonderful young woman and spending time with the man I love. So hats off to those young individuals and I only hope they will make sure to enjoy the journey and not miss out by focusing only on the destination!

I am only 35 and am sooo glad I learned this lesson years ago!!! I watch friends driving the latest vehicles, having the bigger homes, buying the latest and greatest electronics, etc... Then I hear all their complaints over how they have to work 24/7 to pay for it, they are stressed, depressed, their relationships suffer... I agree wholeheartedly with you on being so very happy with my life. I enjoy the journey every day!!
