Lineman Tackles Personal Hardships Head-On - Local News Story - KETV Omaha
The above story makes me smile. I struggle with stuttering too and haven't been able to really move past the humiliation of it all. It's not bad enough for a lot of people to notice it but when it happens (several times a day) I always get self conscious about it. Thus I don't talk much.
I guess it's nice to see someone who is able to confront it and be comfortable with it in a very visible, public way.
And this is for my husband: go big red!

I had a lisp until about 5th grade (when I went through speech therapy) where I said my "S's" like "Shhh." I don't so much remember being teased about it....UNTIL I started working on correcting it. Then all hell broke loose. Luckily a few months of the speech therapy was all I needed and now I am very articulate in my enunciations because of it. |

Thanks for sharing-I'm always surprised by how stupid people-even adults can be with people who stutter. Sometime's it helps just to tell people up front-so you don't have to feel so self conscious about it. Just a little unasked for advice. How are things going? kelly90171 |

Thanks for sharing this. I would have LOVED to be a rollergirl for the same reason he gives. It would have been nice for blowing off some of the steam from being teased relentlessly throughout high school.
jen@maudeDid you get teased for stuttering often?
