If you go to Frontenac State Park, ask the Park Ranger where the arch is. You can drum a heart beat on the wood railings above the arch and the eagles will come out and soar around in circles. The path to the left of the arch leads to a side vantage view point (the only way to see it really) but it's very dangerous and slippery. Be careful. You'll notice a stone face in the bottom of the arch. There are a number of huge trees with multiple trunks nearby that all align and point across the river to a small river mouth on the Wisconsin side that empties into the Mississippi River, where the very first white man came by canoe and crossed. Drive down to the park on the river and walk around the path, where you'll see a couple of trees that look like they were in the Wizard of Oz.

Hey Reggie! I hadn't even heard about the Red Wing Children's book event. Dang... I would love to have been there. However, I was already slated for promoting my book at the RenFest this weekend. As it so happens, we have been asked to be out there for the next three weekends, so if you get out there, look for us at the Children's Realm Stage.
Cheers! ~Scotty Scotty |
