Hey all.. Just wanted to share my new finding (DUH, maybe most of you know already).
I just signed up for the city sponsored new high-speed wireless today. AND at considerable savings!! I happily jumped on the phone to cancel with the company I was receiving DSL service through.. you can probably guess the company. I had always always been told by the representatives that I HAD to have a basic home phone line in service to receive their basic DSL service.. which was $44.99 (home phone line being approx.. $23 additional after taxes. Total bill 'bout $68 per month. Well well I was shocked as HEL1 to have them tell me today while I was trying to cancel that No, I could actually have the internet DSL without the home phone line all along(that I never use!)... So after a lengthly conversation on the phone with a couple representatives, I was able to get some ammends made (i.e. $ back) and cancelled home phone and DSL. And YAY!! On top of that.. I'm paying much much less (a savings of approx. $33/month AND NO TAXES - no kidding) for FASTER (faster by 2.5 Mbps) internet now. It's worth looking into no matter what your current internet service is. :)
Thanks Holly for the suggestion! ~ Anne, please thank your sister if she's not reading this.
Check it all out here. It's not available in all areas, but you can put your address in to see if you're good or not.

It's the BEST!!
