In the event of a disaster, Americans would most like to have avant-garde secret agent MacGyver by their side than some other fictional heroes. In a survey by the McCormick Tribune Foundation, 27% selected the ingenious spy, played by Richard Dean Anderson on the popular '80s TV series. MacGyver was known for his ability to get out of deadly situations by jury-rigging common objects into life-saving tools. Here's the rest of the Top American Fictional Heroes:
Indiana Jones played by Harrison Ford, 16%
"Die Hard"'s John McClane played by Bruce Willis, 14%
James Bond played by Daniel Craig, Pierce Brosnan, Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore, George Lazenby and Sean Connery, 8%
Jason Bourne played by Matt Damon, 8%
"Tomb Raider"'s Lara Croft played by Angelina Jolie, 7%
"24"'s Jack Bauer played by Kiefer Sutherland, 7%
I know this isnt really a choice but I want to go with George Clooney's character in the Quinton Tarantino movie "Dusk Before Dawn" This guy was bad - ass, sexy and killed off a bunch of vampires. I bet he could tear the top off a can of beans with his teeth and then make out!
