Thanks, Steph. Yeah, I learned in creative writing to hook people into reading, so I go for something catchy. It's funny you went to terminal illness right away....that's what I do too...always take the scene way too far...

anyway, thanks for your comments. I do love my kids, and they are my life. We have been through some tough stuff over the past few years. Getting divorced wasn't easy. But we are back on track, and when things get crappy, it takes a weekend like I just had to put things back into perspective, and I remember how lucky I am.
