I am still in shock.  I was the grand prize winner of a national contest and won a 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid.  I went and picked it out Friday and should have it by the end of the week.  It is a slight upgrade from the 1995 Ford Taurus that I am driving right now.

    The Power of Democracy!

    Saturday, October 18, 2008, 12:32 PM [General]

    Here's a funny story -

Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-in****bent) was on Hardball on MSNBC yesterday.  She was spouting such radical ideas calling Obama and liberals anti-American and said there should be an expose focusing on cleaning out congress to get rid of the anti-Americans.

The segment hit youtube, and the blogs (Wonkette) went nuts.  All of a sudden this is getting national attention, and someone posted this link:  http://www.actblue.com/entity/fundraisers/18660 and it got forwarded and pasted all over the place.

It goes to Elwyn Tinklenberg's (her Democrat opponent) fundraising site.  Before Bachmann apeared on Hardball, he had approx. $2,000 in contributions on that site.  I just checked, and since that segment aired yesterday afternoon, he has over $150,000 in contributions!  And it is coming in from all over the country!

The power of the internet!  If you go to this link you can see the segment that is getting everyone so riled up: http://www.actblue.com/page/nonewmccarthy

    Loves it!

No matter which way you lean, you have to admit, the internet has really changed how elections are run these days!

I don't feel like an anti-American liberal right now, in fact, I feel pretty damn proud!

    Embracing my inner nerd

    Friday, October 17, 2008, 08:34 PM [General]

I was digging thru my closet, looking for inspiration for my Halloween costume.  I threw on an old wig (that just happens to match my tank top perfectly) and a pair of costume glasses.  I glanced up a minute later and saw my reflection and it came to me -- I am going to be a hipster nerd.  I already have the ratty wig and glasses, I'll take a quick trip to Ragstock tomorrow, and I will be all set!
