We had to buy a new refrigerator when we moved in four years ago. We got it at ApplianceSmart. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it lasts until we're done with the house (come on, housing market! :D). We also had to replace the washer and dryer but we got a set on Craigslist. Our oven is like 30 years old and still going strong though.... They sure don't make 'em like they used to! PikaPikaChick |

Always check out the sales if you absolutely need a new one. |

Yes it does make sense, but my need for compassion for others is the biggest need I have. So it outways everything else. Also, I should mention, I did not mean to imply that I would change my actions. I would still do what I want, but would be open to the opinions and feelings of others. jen@maude |

Getting in the way of their needs means perhaps they see what I do as not fulfilling their need for discretion, self-respect, or integrity. It is then my wish to have compassion for those feelings and share mine with them. To let them know I have a need for self expression, autonomy and celebration. I find that I will connect with someone easier if I am patient with their judgements rather than angered by them. "When furious, get curious." |

I believe that once the kids are older, I may need some prodding in the present department. However, we've made it a point for the kids to not focus on presents because we know that the tree will definitely be lean this year. 2 presents... that's it... So, I've done my best to keep the holidays about being together, enjoying each other, and appreciating those we love. Maybe Cecelia's thoughts are not too far from the mark as sometimes I believe it's much easier for kids to get into the "give-me" mode around this time of year.
